The New Chief Army of Staff: Dudung Abdurachman

  Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially inaugurated Lieutenant General Dudung Abdurachman as the new Chief of Staff of Indonesian Army.  He replaced General Andika Perkasa who was appointed as the new Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) commander. His inauguration ceremony took place at the State Palace, the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Andika Perkasa: The New Military Commander

President Joko Widodo has decided to appoint the Chief of Army Staff General TNI Andika Perkasa as the sole candidate for the next Military Commander to replace Hadi Tjahjanto who will retire on Nov 8.  Who is Andika?  Andika Perkasa born 21 December 1964. He is married to Diah Erwiany, who is the daughter of the then Indonesian State Intelligence Agency chief, Hendropriyono. He began his career in the Infantry and was first commissioned to the 2nd Group Para Commandos, Army Special Forces Command in 1987.  He then continued his studies in the United States for eight years. He became the Commander of the Presidential Security Force by 2014 and saw rapid rise through his career, holding important and strategic positions and being promoted from a one-star brigadier general to a four-star general just within five years.
